I bought a lexmark 1200 series for my daughter's computer and the program she is running is skylight vista and I cannot figure out what to do effect it say porthole vista is not communicating with the printer, please give an account me what I need to do. step by step if you can.

Sounds close to Vista requires a special driver to make your printer communicate correctly.
Double check the lexmark website and generate sure you initially downloaded the correct driver in the first place. If so, later see if they offer a Vista printer driver for your bring in and model of printer :)
Make sure you remove the "non working" printer icon since doing this. Also, make sure the correct printer is elected as your default printer.
***I freshly checked Lexmarks website and looked at all their printer models. They do not own a Lexmark 1200 driver to download, they do however have a lexmark 1100 wich is close satisfactory a model that you can use that driver. Unfortunately they do not offer VISTA drivers at this time for that model.
Remember when XP come out? Remember how all the hardware and software used to right to be heard XP compatable? This might be true for Vista also. If you end up getting a unsullied printer...look on the box to see if any say Vista Compatable :) share hotel rental fee
