Hi I have need of the driver for the Lexmark 1270 for a system runnign Ubuntu (Linux). The printer is connected via usb and 'may' be shared over the network near a windows base pc. Is it possible that someone can receive a script or write the driver?

It's an All-In-One, Linux drivers are thorny to find.
Try choosing an older Lexmark printer contained by Ubuntu to see if you can at least the printer sector to work.
You may also want to search for a linux utility call "ndiswrapper", it can convert many Windows drivers to run within Linux. It is a little Geeky though.

Most of the info you obligation will be there. Also check within synaptic for foomatic and cups drivers.
