Printer flashes tape needs shifting, but carousel will not rotate.

This is from experience with the dell printers that hold the same design next to the carousel. When the cartdrige access door is open in attendance should be a latch that you can press with a screw driver (or your finger if it's small enough). That will release teh carosel and you can rotate it manually (it should turn next to little effort). To find that latch look at the access door cover... There should be a protruding piece of plastic that lines up with a hole (inside that hole is your latch your looking for). That latch within essence is a sensor telling the printer that the access door is closed. There may be a problem next to the gears that rotate the cartdriges, or a cartdrige is loose causing the carousel not to turn. If it doesn't turn slickly don't force it. It's probably jammed. Call a repair person within that case (Or HP if it's below warrentee). Hope this helps!
